For several years I was looking for ways how to manufacture what I need in Ukraine.

On a few occasions before I tried to bring different products to the US. By the end it was not what I was looking for. Quality and attention to the detail were always on the top of my list.

In the summer of 2021 I decided to start my own line of dog training equipment. So many times I heard people say how much they wished that certain toys would be done in the certain shape or the length of the handle will be of a specific size. As a dog trainer – I also had ideas and wanted to have my own toys to train that will suit many others that I trained with and myself. As Bo taught me so many things in his 5 years of life, I had no other name for the company but Bo’s Dog Training Equipment.

The very first toy we designed was done with Debra Zappia’s specifications. This is how Mini Zee came to life. Deb wanted a small toy, easy to hide in the packet and to slide it out. Her biggest complaint was that when she ordered another one from the same company – it was not the same size. Why I asked myself.

At the first opportunity to go back to Ukraine, I wanted to see everything. How is it done, how does the fabric behave when you cut it, what kind of stitching needs to be done to prevent falling apart, what is the size and type of the thread, what do we fill it up with so the toys simply don’t stink? Also very important  – I wanted to make sure that we are not using the left overs of the fabric therefore we can guarantee that the toys are the same size within its type. All of this in mind of course that the purpose for each toy is to be abused by a hard core working dog.

By February 2022 we had established a good production of several items. On Feb 24th, the WAR came into my homeland. Just like everyone else I was in shock and disbelief of what was happening. Although in my mind I already said good bye to my business, I kept on asking God to give me an opportunity to help my country.

Two weeks after the invasion, we found out that there are still ways to ship the product. With all of the airports being destroyed in the country and damaged infrastructure in most places, I don’t know how, but it was possible to get things out of the country. And we continued working.

Today, I’m thankful for every single person that supports Bo’s Dog Training Equipment. This is in no way my own personal accomplishment, but because of these people, we are providing an income to families in the country at war and on behalf of everyone, I’m continuously sending money back home to help refugees and wounded soldiers. Because of every single product being sold from Bo’s, I was able to help my friends to go to the FCI World Championship in Czech Republic.

I’m looking forward to designing new training gear, toys and helping ………..
